Saturday morning neighbors were
still taken aback by Friday nights
events, however they remember clearly
what they did when they heard the
gunfire.

AND I RAN FOR THE WINDOW AND CLOSED THE
BLINDS TO MAKE SURE THE BABIES WERE OK
AND I CUT OFF THE LIGHT TO MAKE SURE
THEY WERE AND I SAW CARS AT THE STORE.

Morris says within minutes of the
shooting the police were on the scene,
and trying to gather any leads they
could.

FIVE OR SIX GUN SHOTS AND THAT WAS
ABOUT IT. AT THAT TIME I SAW A WOMEN
RUNNING UP THE STREET HOLLERING IT WAS
HER DAUGHTER.

Lucy Borders says that woman was
Desiree's mother.

Borders says she and the victim's
mother took Desiree's baby girl from
the empty car and tried to console
Desiree's sister, who they say was also
in the car at the time of the shooting.

SOMETHING THAT YOU WOULD NOT NORMALLY

Neighbors say after she was shot
Desiree walked into the Annwill
Grocery, asked for help, and fell to
the ground.

Police continue to search for
Raphael Jones and residents hope they
get their man.

hazerdous materials incident this
morning.

tractor trailer caught fire around
8:30.

Heavy smoke in the area and
the dangers of hazerdous materials
stopped traffic in both directions.

State police say the truck's
brakes caught fire and that spread to

different hazardous chemicals.

connection with a drug raid in Henry
County.

29-year-old Alberto Zuniga of Madison,
North Carolina and 24-year-old Juan
Becerra-Reyes of Axton, were both
charged with possession of marijuana
with the intent to distribute.

Authorities arrested the men at a home
yesterday in Axton, where they
recovered 42-pounds of marijuana, worth
more than 40-thousand dollars.

agreement on a new contract.

Negotations had been ongoing
since early December.

The previous five contract
expired this week.

Workers will now vote on the new
contract.


Still no contract between the
Celanese plant and its workers in Giles
County.

Members of UNITE HERE Local 20-24
voted down a four year contract from
Celanese.

65-percent of union members said
NO.

The two sides have been working
since December on a new contract and
severance benefits for 300 workers
being laid off.

The plant is discontinuing
production of acetate filament, a
product often found in clothing and
household goods.

The current contract expires in
