To help Virginians avoid
institutional care, Delegate Steve
Landes (Land-is) is encouraging, those
who can afford it, to purchase long-
term care insurance.

He says those programs usually
allow recipients to receive care in
their homes.

It would also free up state and
federal money for less wealthy
individuals.

Lawmakers say they realize this
is just a start, but it's an issue that
must be addressed.
