Yorktowne Cabinetry would relocate its
manufacturing plant to the Danville
area.

The move will create 540 new jobs
in an area where the unemployment rate

percent.

Yorktowne chose Virginia after
looking at sites in seven southeast and
mid-Atlantic states.

Company leaders say they were won
over by the local sales pitch.

morning.

The wreck happened around eleven
on Interstate-81 near Raphine
(Ray-feen).

State police say 22-year-old
Heather Michelle Wilson of Raphine was
passing a tractor-trailer, when her car
ran off the left side of the highway,
overcorrected, and flipped over several
times.

Wilson was thrown from the car
and killed.

Her infant son, however, was in a
car seat and survived.

He was taken to the hospital for
minor injuries.

announced a program that will make it
easier for teens to get involve with
fire and rescue agencies while they're
still in school.

rescue classes will be offered to 20 of
the county's high school students.

The two-semester program will allow
students to become certified, have a
mentor and even leave high school with
12-credits which would transfer to the

medical research.

Wilmut plans to study how nerve
cells go awry and cause motor neuron
disease.

The experiments do *not* involve
creating cloned babies.

Such work is called therapeutic
cloning.

It is opposed by abortion foes
and other biological conservatives
because researchers must destroy human
embryos to harvest the cells.

Wilmut is best known for leading
the team that created Dolly at
Scotland's Roslin Institute in 1996.

welcomed Ellen MacArthur back to
England after her record breaking

round the world solo race....a flotilla
of hundreds of boats accompanied

McArthur and her vessel the B&Q into
port in Falmouth England.

The 28 year old brit sailor had her
first celebration Monday evening

when she crossed the finish line off
the coast of France...knocking more

than a full day off the old record.

"It's been an extraordinary experience,
the whole trip "

MacArthur had to battle equipment
failure and fierce ocean storms. And

there were days when the wind just
wouldn't blow. She got burned , cut

and terribly bruised but she didn't
give up.

"What makes it so hard is that you
can't see a way out, you know,

you're tired, you're exhausted//you're
on a boat. It's not going to

stop, the waves aren't going to stop,
the weather is not going to stop.

Though she spend two and half months
out in the ocean. MacArthur said

she never felt alone....maybe that's
because she documented her journey

via satellite video phone and Great
Britain sailed along with her.

MacArthur's feat was't just the result
of exceptional sailing - but

also incredible physical and mental
endurance...not only did she do the

work of a whole sailing crew alone -
but by the end she was doing it on

almost no sleep.

Though she started off sleeping 6 hours
a night she cut back as she

neared the finish and operated on naps
of just 20 minutes for the past

few days.

ACC.

The University of Virginia and
Virginia Tech are well represented on
the all-ACC Academic teams that was
announced this afternoon.

The Cavaliers placed six players
on the all-Academic teams, while the
Hokies put four on it.

Leading the way is the ACC's
player of the year Bryan Randall.

The Hokie senior had a 4 point oh
grade point average for the fall
semester.

To be eligible a player must have
a 3 point oh for hte semester and a 3-
point oh for his academic career.

Hardy made it from UVa as did former
Pulaski star Jeff King for the Hokies.

Super Bowl Champs.

Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch.

Philadelphia on Sunday, their whirlwind
journey ended with a "rolling rally" on
World War II-era amphibious duck boats
like the ones the Red Sox rode in their
championship celebration last fall.

Belichick wore his trademark
sweat shirt. He was surrounded by team
owner Robert Kraft, vice chairman
Jonathan Kraft and player personnel
director Scott Pioli -- all clutching
the team's three Vince Lombardi
trophies.

The promotion will help Airtran
launch it's free XM Satellite Radio
service.

Promoters say it's the first time
such a service has been available on a
commercial airline worldwide.
