GRAPHIC=none Is Christianity under attack in

Virginia's public schools?

One lawmaker thinks so, and is
proposing a constitutional amendment
that would guarantee religious
expression, especially at public
schools.

But as Justin McLeod discovered many
school administrators question the need
for one.

Schools are required to hold a moment
of silence.

In many school systems like Roanoke
County, students can pray, it just
can't be disruptive.

THERE ARE STUDENTS JUST TO LET YOU

So many administrators wonder why
there's a need for a constitutional
amendment that would allow prayer and
religious activity in Virginia's public
schools.

IT STARTS OUT TO FURTHER SECURE THE
PEOPLE'S RIGHT TO ACKNOWLEDGE GOD
ACCORDING TO WHAT DICTATES THEIR

Carrico also feels Christianity is
under attack in our public schools.

Administrators disagree, saying they
need to be tolerant of all religions.

What do students think? We asked
some who consider themselves religious.
