News-7 Mornin'
GRAPHIC=News 7 Mornin' North Korea has raised the stakes in
ENG#=1 its nuclear confrontation with the U-S.
VO-NAT
*CG file File Tape (VO-NAT)
For the first time, leaders said
they have nuclear weapons.
But they rejected moves to restart
disarmament talks anytime soon.
They say they need the weapons as
protection against an increasingly
hostile U-S.
The U-S, North and South Korea,
China, Japan and Russia have held three
rounds of talks since 2003, aimed at
persuading the North Koreans to abandon
their weapons development.
A fourth round was cancelled last
September when North Korea refused to
attend.

Taxpayers will have to shell out
more for the new Medicare Prescription

more than the plan's original price
tag.
When the bill passed Congress in
2003, the price was 400 billion for the
first decade.
Two months after it became law, the
White House revised that to 534-
billion.
But the full benefit doesn't kick in
until 2006-- now the administration
says it'll cost 724 billion dollars.
President Bush says aging baby

representatives of the U.S. Army Corps

They also told members of the Victory
Stadium Committee that the facility
could be flood-proofed, but that it's
unclear how much that would cost, and
whether federal funding would be
available.
The 10-mile flood control project will
be built in phases and is expected to

The marriage is a sensitive issue

Charles would be the supreme governor

For the first time, leaders said
they have nuclear weapons.
But they rejected moves to restart
disarmament talks anytime soon.
They say they need the weapons as
protection against an increasingly
hostile U-S.
The U-S, North and South Korea,
China, Japan and Russia have held three
rounds of talks since 2003, aimed at
persuading the North Koreans to abandon
their weapons development.
A fourth round was cancelled last
September when North Korea refused to
attend.

September 28 The project will not protect Roanoke
from a hundred year flood, but
representatives of the U.S. Army Corps
of Engineers say it probably would have
prevented water from reaching Victory

They also told members of the Victory
Stadium Committee that the facility
could be flood-proofed, but that it's
unclear how much that would cost, and
whether federal funding would be
available.
The 10-mile flood control project will
be built in phases and is expected to
cost about 65-million dollars.

Much of the damage at Victory

The marriage is a sensitive issue
