Ryan Ross yesterday.

Investigators say the Chevrolet sedan

Hospital for treatment of head
injuries.

He is currently listed in Stable
Condition.

morning, I got a phone call from my
daughter and she says, '"dad, bobby's
boat's missing."



IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE THIS AILING,
ELDERLY FATHER WAS BROUGHT TO TEARS
WHEN HE GOT A PHONE CALL SAYING HIS
OTHER SON RICK HAD JUMPED OFF A SINKING
FISHING BOAT FORTY FIVE MILES OFF THE
COAST OF ROCKPORT. BUT THIS WOULD HAVE
A MUCH BETTER ENDING.



RICK SHATFORD/CAPTAIN we were on our
way home. We had a nice trip. We were
cleaning fish and really kind of happy
you know, having a few laughs. All of
the sudden, you know, we started having
a little more water on the back deck
than we usually have.



RICK SHATFORD PUT OUT THE MAYDAY CALL,

SET OFF AN EMERGENCY BEACON, THE CREW
GRABBING SURVIVAL SUITS AND A LIFE
PRESERVER, SHATFORD FACING THE
POSSIBILITY OF MEETING THE SAME FATE
THAT TOOK HIS BROTHER.

he was foremost on his mind. He was a
little bit nervous, you know, the boat
sinking, his brother before him.

your brother when this happened?

except the job at hand.



A COAST GUARD HELICOPTER HAPPENED TO BE
NEARBY ON THE WAY TO A TRAINING
MISSION. A COAST GUARD FALCON JET ALSO
TRAINING CLOSE ENOUGH TO PICK UP THE
MAYDAY CALL. ALL THREE FISHERMEN
RESCUED AND UNINJURED.

Strong blizzards have been hitting
the region for several days-- causing
some major disruptions.

With the streets covered in snow,
public transportation has almost come
to a standstill, and there have been
long lines for buses and taxis.

Many people have been unable to go to
work, and some schools have been closed
for about a week.

Most flights in and out of the
capital have been also cancelled.
