A special prosecutor says there
is no evidence of criminal conduct by
Deputy Darren Barrett.
Barrett shot 30 year old Raymond
Dale George in the arm and the jaw
after a chase.
George allegedly pulled a gun on
Barrett.
The weapon turned out to be a
pellet gun.
George faces numerous charges
included eluding police and attempted
capital murder.

GRAPHIC=None wrongful termination lawsuit for
65-thousand dollars.
The Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission says the restaurant fired an
assistant manager who refused a
customer's request that she be served
only by an employee of a certain race.
The employer denied the charge but
agreed to the settlement.
The restaurant is owned by Star
City L-L-C, which operates about 10
convenience stores and fast food
restaurants in Virginia and West
Virginia.
Star City must also conduct
training for its managers on employment
rights and responsibilities.

Arthur Miller passed away today at
his home in Connecticut.
Millers works symbolized a growing
cynicism in American society. His
most famous fictional character was
Willy Loman from Death of a
Salesman.
The play - which took Miller only six
weeks to write - won him the
Pulitzer at the age of 33.
But "The Crucible" turned out to be
his most frequently performed work.
In 1956...his highly publicized
marriage to movie star Marilyn Monroe
catapulted him into a different type of
spotlight.
They divorced after five years.
Arthur Miller was 88 years old.

Two pretty decent NBA stars are
calling it quits, as well.

:00 The Mailman, Karl Malone, will
retire this Sunday after 19 seasons in
the league.
Malone is now 41 years old and he
has not played this season after opting
out of his contract with the Lakers.
There has been speculation that
he would sign with the Spurs, but Jazz
officials says he will officially
retuire this weekend.
He steps aside as the league's
second all-time scorer with just under
37 thousand points.

And Reggie Miller also is
quittting at season's end.
He has spent all 18 years of his
career with the Indiana Pacers and is
the team's all-time scoring leader. The
five-time

attempted and made.

the Netherlands zoo.

Jennifer and Petra apparently
dislike the gloomy Dutch weather and
have problems with their skin because
of the lack of sunlight.
So they spend 20-minutes at a
time in their custom-built sunbed.
The animals are 32 and 23 years
old.
Keepers say they need sunshine
and regular wallows in a mud pool to
keep healthy.
But in winter, when temperatures
often dip below freezing, the mud pool
is far too cold.
So keepers decided to order up
some custom sunshine.
