A special prosecutor says there
is no evidence of criminal conduct by
Deputy Darren Barrett.
Barrett shot 30 year old Raymond
Dale George twice in the course of a
chase.
George allegedly pulled a gun on
Barrett.
The weapon turned out to be a
pellet gun.
George faces numerous charges
included eluding police and attempted
capital murder.

old Gloria Castanon Cast-a non with
failure to yield the right of way to a
pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Wednesday ran down 25 year old Graduate student
Joshua Ryan Ross as he was walking in a
cross walk on Main Street.
She's also charged with felony
hit and run and driving without a
license.

campus. Tech police answered with
stepped up enforcement.

cars and 40 tickets were written for
failure to yield to pedestrians in
crosswalks.
By last year, the number of pedestrians
accidents was cut in half and only 15
tickets were written. So far this year
one student's been hit on campus and 5
tickets issued.

wrongly fired from his job.
The Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission says Thomas Guy was
dismissed after he refused a customer's
request that she be served only by a
person of a certain race.
E-E-O-C rules state an employer
cannot retaliate against an employee
who opposes discrimination.
The restaurant is owned by Star
City L-L-C, which operates ten
convenience stores and fast food
restaurants in Virginia and West
Virginia.
Under the settlement, Star City
managers must also undergo training in
employment rights and responsibilities.

the NBA.
There is word tonight from the
league that both Karl Malone and Reggie
Miller are retiring.
Malone will do so Sunday in Utah,
while Miller will step down at season's
end.

back to sign a one day contract so he
can retire as a Redskin.
Mitchell owns 9 NFL records, and
he spent 10 season with the Skins after
he was drafted in the fifth round in
1990.
He later was cut to make room for
Deion Sanders.
Mitchell and Joe Gibbs will hold
a ceremony to make it all official next
Wednesday at Redskins Park.
