reporters in New York today.
The Yankee's Jason Giambi said he
was sorry, but he never directly
admitted using performing enhancing
steriods as he reportedly did before a
grand jury. Drew Levinson reports from

Baseman Jason Giambi finally spoke out.

situation, I take full resposibility
for it.")
It was Giamibi's first public
appearance since word leaked about his
Balco grand jury testimony last year.
In it--he described how he
injected steroids into his stomach.

grand jury, I told the truth.")

During Spring training last year he
denied using any
performance-enhancing drugs---and said
the reason he lost weight was his
diet.
At Yankee stadium the ball player
apologized for lying.

lot of people down.")
Giambi suffered his worst season after
being diagnosed with an internal
parasit and a tumor on his pituitary
gland.

to name names and detail alleged
illegal drug use by some of the
league's brightest stars including

Bomds and Mark McQuire.

Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig
Wednesday refused to comment on the
book, but he did say he is confident
the leagues new steroid policy will
be effective.
