Blacksburg, involving both the driver
and her husband.

Police have now charged 37 year
old Gloria Castanon Cast-a non with
failure to yield the right of way to a
pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Wednesday ran down 25 year old graduate student
Joshua Ryan Ross as he was walking in a
cross walk on Main Street.
She's also charged with felony
hit and run and driving without a
license.

Thursday night police arrested
Castanon's husband, 36 year old Isaias
Fuentes-Valdez and charged him with
Obstruction of Justice.
Police say he hid the car after
the accident and removed the license
plates.
The student is still in the

actually on the decline at Tech.
In 2002, there were 6 accidents
including one fatality and 40 tickets
issued for failure to yield the right
of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
By last year, the number of
accidents was cut in half and only 15
tickets were written.

believe tried to abduct a woman and
solicit others - and officials need
your help.
Roanoke police believe the
abduction attempt happened on the
afternoon of February 4th.
A 19 year old woman told them a man
tried to pull her into a car on Fourth
Street Southwest.
Within the last 24 hours police
have learned of two attempts to solicit
young women.

same vehicle, a blue Chevy Cavalier
with North Carolina license plate

Police want to hear from anyone
who has seen the vehicle or may have

killed 17 and wounded 16 others.
The deadly strike happened close
to a hospital just south of the capital
city.
Police also made a gruesome
discovery near the northern city of
Mosul.
They've found the bodies of
six-men dressed in Iraqi National Guard
uniforms.
The men were reportedly shot in
the chest and head and their bodies
dumped on a main highway near the city.
Earlier, a prominent Iraqi judge
was assassinated in the southern port
city of Basra.
The attacks are part of an
increase in violence by militants
against Iraqis, following last month's
national elections.

They say a man in his 40s who has
tested negative for HIV for a decade
developed flu- like symptoms after
having unprotected sex with multiple
partners last fall.
In December he was diagnosed with
HIV.
This month, he was diagnosed with
AIDS.

says he's particularly concerned
because the progression from HIV to
AIDS usually takes a decade and can be
controlled by drugs.
But the patient's virus was

General Assembly.
The bill prohibits anyone from
selling the flu- vaccine at inflated
prices when the governor has declared a
shortage.
Just this week- the state health
commissioner testified before a federal
committee on how Virginia's dealing
with the current shortage.
The commissioner stressed the
need for a more reliable system when it
comes to producing and distributing the
vaccine.

solicit others.
Roanoke police believe the
abduction attempt happened on the
afternoon of February Fourth.
A 19 year old woman told them a man
tried to pull her into a car on Fourth
Street Southwest.
Within the last 24 hours police
have learned of two attempts to solicit
young women.

City L-L-C, which operates ten

Were you ever crazy about someone who
didn't know you existed? Did you wish
that there was someone who could give
you a nudge and help you get past that
awkward "you don't know I exist, but
I'm in love with you" speech? Yep,
we've all been there. If only there had
been a guy like Hitch to help us get
noticed.
Will Smith plays "Hitch" a likable guy
who just happens to help ordinary guys
get noticed by women that wouldn't
normally give them the time of day.
Kevin James plays "Albert", an
extremely ordinary guy, who just
happens to have his heart set on a
beautiful heiress played by Amber
Valetta. Then there's tabloid
columnist/ ice queen Sara (Eva Mendes)
who desperately wants to unmask the
"date doctor" the whole time she's
unwittingly falling in love with him.
I love Kevin James (King of Queens)! He
is such a likable character on the CBS
show. He is also the standout here. He
steals the show in every scene he's in.
He somehow manages to be likable and
kinda' goofy at the same time. The
chemistry between James and Amber
Valetta really came across. Will Smith
and Eva Mendes, while both likable
actors, don't have the same luck in the
chemistry department. They both do a
decent job, but it just never clicked
for me. At times I really liked the
movie and at others I was thinking
about what color I was going to paint
the guest bathroom in my house. It's
almost like "Hitch" is two movies in
one. One of them is really funny,
charming and likable. The other movie
is only so-so and a little forgettable.
Hey Will, stop playing it so darn safe!
I have to admit I still enjoyed it and
if you are looking for a sweet,
romantic comedy to take someone special
to, "Hitch" will do just fine.
