will close 19 stores, five regional
offices and a distribution center
nationwide.

Lynchburg's superstore is located
in the Candlers Station shopping center
near Liberty University.

Employees there reportedly learned

of the store's closing last night.

Circuit City says the closings are
"not" related to a recent buyout offer
from a Boston investment firm.

plane out of Richmond.

The crash took place amid
freezing rain this morning as the plane
approached the airport in Pueblo,
Colorado.

The plane was registered to
Circuit City Stores.

The company says four of the
people on board were employees.

The victims include a pilot,
co-pilot and six passengers.

Two witnesses told investigators
they heard loud popping noises coming
from the plane shortly before it
crashed at about 9:15 this morning.
