ENG#=2 however, Melinda Bond is facing

embezzlement charges after disappearing
for three-weeks.

The 25-year-old made her first
appearance in Salem General District
Court.

Bond gave the courtroom a smile
as she sat down.

Her family was nearby. Though
they wouldn't talk on camera, Melinda's
mother told News Seven her daughter
didn't embezzle any money. She says it
was stolen when Melinda was kidnapped
and *forced* to go to Mexico.

The family claims Vinton Police

aren't doing anything to investigate
the allegations.

coming to Pulaski.

million dollar investment in the town.

The internationally known company
is building a new fiber and cement
manufacturing plant on 51 acres in the
town's new business park.

The move will create 200 new
jobs.

Construction will begin next
month.

of 2006.

a new school superintendent.

Last night, the school board voted
to enter into negotiations with Tiffany
Anderson.

Anderson is currently an
assistant superintendent in the
Rockwood School District in Saint Louis
County, Missouri.

School board members hope to
have Anderson on the job as soon as
possible.

The board has named two
experienced administrators from other
Virginia school systems as finalist.

with the Prince William County Public
Schools in northern Virginia, and James
Victory, Executive Director for
Secondary Schools in the Norfolk Public
School system.

Instead, his chief of staff spoke
about the importance of expanding
access to Virginia's colleges and
Universities while accommodating growth

Jefferson's retreat at Poplar Forest on
a field trip.

Then they learned that a shopping
center was being planned for 72 acres

Mr. Jefferson called the "lower field."

allowance. They raised 20-dollars for
Poplar Forest.

The bank loan on the property
comes to three million.

Walizer WALTZ-ee-ur developed an
on-line relationship with a 17-year-old
girl ... and drove here last month to
have sex with her.

the girl showed up at Lynchburg General
Hospital saying she'd been raped.

Walizer WALTZ-ee-ur is apparently
headed to prison for his conviction on
a similar charge in Ohio.

stand trial.

July Elmer Crigger, and his sons Daniel and
Donald, were charged in July with abuse
and neglect of an incapacitated adult.

Police say 65 year old Esther Crigger's
respirator was unplugged and family
dogs had partially eaten her left arm.

Tuesday a judge ruled the men were
mentally unfit for trial.

The prosecutor dropped the case FOR
NOW, but the men could be charged
again.
