Paul Bowyer was the assistant
Football coach over at Blacksburg High
School for 29 years.

The fire started sometime after
midnight at the Bowyers home on Glade
Road.
Investigators says its not
suspicious and they believe the fire
started in the corner of the dining
room in the rear of the house.
Investigators say Bowyer actually
escaped the flames and then went back
inside to save his grandaughter.
Those heroic actions surprise no
one who knows Bowyer.

was crossing collapsed.

The driver wasn't injured and no
