night after raiding a home in
Hillsville.

Paul Branch, Francisco Quintana,

Sunday morning's run-in between
an Oldsmobile and a brick house was the
combined result of speed and alcohol.

County police confirmed today
that Joshua Glenn Crowder was exceeding
the 25-mile- an- hour limit and had
apparently been drinking when his car
struck the house on Castle Rock Road.

The 18-year old driver hit the
house around 5:30 in the morning. He's
still in intensive care. Police report
Crowder was not wearing a seat belt.

search in Campbell County today.

State police tried to stop this
Mazda on Route 29 for having tinted
windows, but the driver took off.

After ditching the car on Chapel
Grove Road, the suspect fled on foot
and a state trooper tackled him in some
nearby woods.

The man was able to get away and
more than a dozen troopers and Campbell
County deputies, along with tracking
dogs and a helicopter, searched for
about three hours with no success.

only way for many Lynchburg-area
residents to access a new shopping
center is to cross a busy and
potentially dangerous Wards Ferry Road
on foot or in their wheelchair.

A major new shopping center is
proposed for this land just south of
Wards Ferry and the Lynchburg city
limits ... but unless you have a car,
you likely won't be able to shop there.

it makes sense for the bus to extend
its route to right here where the new
shopping center will go. But the bus
company says it's not that simple.
