in a Blacksburg fire.

Paul Bowyer Boe-yer and his
granddaughter Katie are both being
treated at the U-V-A medical center
burn unit.
*CG locator Blacksburg Friends say Bowyer is being treated for
Yesterday severe damage to his lungs.
His 12-year-old granddaughter Katie has
significant burns.
They were hurt early Friday morning in
a house fire on Glade Road.
Firefighters say Bowyer got out of the
house safely --but then went back
inside to save his granddaughter.

(END SOT) Lance Corporal Adam Overfelt is
on leave for 30 days and plans on
getting in as much riding time as he
can on his new Harley Davidson.
SHARON OVERFELT:IT'S WONDERFULL. HE IS
OVER THERE THIS WHOLE TIME AND HE
DESERVES SOMETHING BIG.
In August Adam was surprised by
his parents with a new bike, and
Saturday he spent the morning in the
Harley shop gearing up.
Adam says it was nice to get the
surprise welcome home from the local
Harley Club and that he was grateful
for the support.
ADAM OVERFELT:IT'S JUST OUR JOB THAT'S
WHAT WE DO. WE REALLY DON'T DESERVE IT
OR EXPECT IT WE JUST DO OUR JOB, SO
IT'S NICE TO GET THE RECOGNITION.
The Marine says he has only been
back for a day now, but has already
noticed the differences between life in
Virignia and life in Iraq.

OF A DEAL, YOU KNOW YOU ARE STANDING
THERE AND A CAR BOMB GOES OFF; OK
THAT'S NORMAL. A FEW MORTARS OR

The family plans on taking
advantage of Adam's break from Iraq by
spending as much time together as they
can, and of course that means, a lot of
time on their Harleys.
