January 9, 2005 The Marines finished up training
in Virginia more than a month ago.

B-Company was then split into two
groups.One headed to Camp Lejeune,

North Carolina, and the other to
Twentynine Palms, California.

Captain John Knapp says the
Marines at Twentynine Palms have
already left, and in less than two
hours from now, the group at Camp
Lejeune will depart for Iraq.

Captain Knapp couldn't say
exactly where or what the Marines will
be doing --except that they will be in
support of the second Marine Division
combat unit.

B-Company will be in Iraq for six
to seven months.

conservation and education - has fallen

January 29 Last month, a state trooper tried to
pulled over a car along the Fairystone
Park Highway, when the driver jumped
out and ran into the river.

Police feared the man may have drowned,
but now believe he's still alive.

Apparently, someone picked up the man's
paycheck at his job in Bassett.

Authorities have identified him as
Miguel Bravo.

Anyone with information on Bravo's
whereabouts is asked to call police.

from his truck after it flipped over
last night in Giles County.

It happened on route 100 a few
miles south of Pearisburg.

Officials say Randall Palmer ran
off the left hand side of the road,
overcorrected and ran off of the right
side.

He over-corrected again, flipping
the pickup he was driving.

No word at this time on his
