left for dead is actually alive -- and
picking up his paychecks.

January 29 Last month, a state trooper tried
to pulled over a car along the
Fairystone Park Highway, when the
driver jumped out and ran into the
river.
Police feared the man drowned,
but now believe he's still alive.
Apparently, someone picked up the
man's paycheck at his job in Bassett.
Authorities have identified him
as Miguel Bravo.
Anyone with information on
Bravo's whereabouts is asked to call
police.

losing two sons to AIDS during HIV-AIDS
awareness week at Hollins University.

MYOU-dee are parents of two sons who
died of AIDS-related illnesses.
As a result, the couple became
national leaders in HIV-AIDS education
and ministry.
Together, they published the

Wheelchair."

got a big sendoff last month. Now the
last of those Roanoke-based Marines are
on their way to Iraq.

January 9 The Marines finished up training
in Virginia more than a month ago.
B-Company was then split into two
groups.One headed to Camp Lejeune,
North Carolina, and the other to
Twentynine Palms, California.
Military officials say the
Marines at Twentynine Palms have
already left, and the group at Camp
Lejeune was set to depart for Iraq last
night.
No word on exactly what the
Marines will be doing --except that
they will support the second Marine
Division combat unit.
They should be in Iraq for six to
seven months.
