authorities say resulted in the death
of his son.

November 2004 Glovern Ray Phipps was arrested
Friday and charged with driving under
the influence and involuntary
manslaughter.

Phipps was indicted by the grand
jury at the beginning of the month
after charges were dropped last month
in district court.

Charges stem from a November
accident on Thompson Memorial
Boulevard.

Phipps' five-year-old son, Ryan
died the next day from injuries
authorities believe were sustained in
the crash.

Glovern Phipps is due back in
court on March 1st.

school bus accident in Bedford County.

It happened just a few minutes ago on

Route-24 near Jordantown Road.

School officials say one student has
been transported to the hospital for
what they believe are minor cuts and
abrasions.

They say the bus was carrying Staunton
River High School students who take
classes at the Governor's School in
Roanoke.

They are not sure how many students
were actually on the bus at the time,
but say there are typically
15-students.

story as it becomes available.
