GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident State police say a reckless driver

County.

Just after 6 last night,
authorities say a red truck was driving
recklessly, headed south on Route 501

near Gladys.

Another southbound car swerved to
avoid the truck, over-corrected and
swung into the northbound lane, hitting
another car head-on.

The driver of the northbound car
died at the scene ... the other driver
was flown to Lynchburg General Hospital
with what police say were severe
injuries.

Names of the victims have yet to
be released.

The red pickup did not stop ...
and police ask anyone with information
about the accident to call
1-800-552-0962.

an armed robber this morning.

At about 1:30 A- M, a person
wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt
entered the Stop-In convenience store
on Gus Nick Boulevard and Pollard
Street.

The suspect pulled a gun on the

clerk and demanded she open the
register.

Police say the suspect reached
inside, took about 45 dollars, and fled
on foot.

Police tracked the suspect for a
while, but lost the trail.

He could have faced five criminal

studying the stadium's structural

Renovating the current facility
is one option, but the committee is
also considering smaller stadiums at
each of the city's high schools.

Next week, the committee plans to
visit the site near Orange Avenue where

new stadium before the project was put
on hold.

Members say they hope to begin

eliminating some of those alternatives
at their next meeting in two weeks.

accident.

Just after 6 last night,
authorities say a red truck was driving
recklessly, headed south on Route 501
near Gladys in Campbell County.

Another southbound car swerved to
avoid the truck, over-corrected and
swung into the northbound lane, hitting
another car head-on.

The driver of the northbound car
died at the scene ... the other driver
was flown to Lynchburg General Hospital
with what police say were severe
injuries.

Names of the victims have yet to
be released.

The red pickup did not stop ...

and police ask anyone with information

ENG#=1 caused a fatal accident in Campbell


County.

Just after 6 last night,
authorities say a red truck was driving
recklessly, headed south on Route 501
near Gladys.

Another southbound car swerved to
avoid the truck, over-corrected and
swung into the northbound lane, hitting
another car head-on.

The driver of the northbound car
died at the scene ... the other driver
was flown to Lynchburg General Hospital
with what police say were severe
injuries.

Names of the victims have yet to
be released.

The red pickup did not stop ...
and police ask anyone with information
about the accident to call
1-800-552-0962.

an armed robber this morning.

At about 1:30 A- M, a person
wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt
entered the Stop-In convenience store

on Gus Nick Boulevard and Pollard
Street.

The suspect pulled a gun on the
clerk and demanded she open the
register.

Police say the suspect reached
inside, took about 45 dollars, and fled
on foot.

Police tracked the suspect for a
while, but lost the trail.

studying the stadium's structural
integrity.

Renovating the current facility
is one option, but the committee is
also considering smaller stadiums at

each of the city's high schools.

Next week, the committee plans to
visit the site near Orange Avenue where
the city had been planning to build a
new stadium before the project was put
on hold.

Members say they hope to begin
eliminating some of those alternatives
at their next meeting in two weeks.
