ENG#=1 morning from burns he suffered last

Friday.

Friday Authorities say the fire started
at the home in the 33-hundred block of
Glade Road just after midnight last
Friday.

Bowyer (bow-yer) went back into
the house to rescue his 12-year-old
granddaughter, Katie.

Katie is still in critical
condition at the UVA Medicial Center.

Bowyer (bow-yer) had been an
assistant football coach at Blacksburg
High School for 29-years.

young boy.

Narrows police arrested 54 year old
Homer Lee White last night and charged
him with six counts of aggravated
sexual battery.

Police say a young boy at Narrows
Elementary school told them the
molestation happened six or seven times
at the school.

Reverend Jerry Falwell's condition
apparently is improving this morning.

Falwell was admitted to Lynchburg
General Hospital earlier this week with

a viral infection that has now been
diagnosed as pneumonia.

Reverend Falwell has been suffering
from pneumonia, and last night
apparently was having a very difficult
time breathing.

Jerry Falwell Junior, says the
congestion in his father's lungs was
very bad and the simple act of
breathing was exhausting him.

Doctors at Lynchburg General
Hospital reportedly placed Falwell on a
ventilator last night along with some
other treatments and today, he

apparently is feeling much better.

Falwell Junior says doctors have
ruled out any heart problems and
believe that the Liberty University
chancellor has a bad case of viral
pneumonia which cannot be treated with
antibiotics and must simply just run
its course.

Right now they are cautiously
optimistic about his recovery.

caused a fatal crash in Campbell County
last night.

Authorities say a red pickup truck
traveling recklessly on Route 501
caused a head-on crash that killed one
man and left another driver in serious
condition.

The truck was later found wrecked
near Naruna ... and police believe the

Folks in Mount Zion, Illinois are
scratching their heads over why a large
chunk of ice just fell from the sky.

The piece was a whopping 21- inches
long and 12- inches wide.

Residents say it left a gaping
eight- inch hole in the ground when it
landed, but didn't injure anyone.

Some are guessing that the ice chunk
fell from an airplane.

So far, authorities aren't making a
big deal about it.

But it does have everyone talking--
and looking upward to see what else
might might fall.

Tennessee Women's Basketball Coach < 1:13 a Text Message that is. The day we
visited with Wallace, she was

interrupted by a cellphone text message
from a UVa assistant coach. Like
Wallace, Moats receives text messages
from college coaches on a daily basis.

This week, Tennessee coach Pat
Summitt, who has led the Vols to six
national titles since 1974, spent an
evening at Northside watching Moats in
the Blue Ridge district tournament.

PAT SUMMITT

Summitt has not offered Moats yet.
The junior will join a west Virginia
based AAU team after the season coached
by the father of a Tennessee player.
Wallace, who suffered a season ending
knee injury last week, plays ninth
months a year.

Summitt's roster often has players
from California to Florida to Illinois
to New York and has watched the high
school game evolve in her 30 plus years
as UT's head coach.

Wallace and Moats have played on the
same AAU team together but doubt they
