administrative leave after a handcuffed
suspect was shot and killed.
Officials say the suspect struggled
with the deputy and then the officer's
gun went off.
Authorities aren't sure who pulled
the trigger.

Last Night The shooting happened around three
thirty Friday afternoon in the parking
lot of the Rockbridge County jail.
A deputy was trying to enter the jail
when the suspect, 34 year old Jerry
Wayne Ruley, grabbed his service
pistol.
A jail employee witnessed the
struggle and called for help.
The Rockbridge County Sheriff and
three other deputies arrived moments
later.

WE REALIZED HE HAD THE OFFICER'S GUN.
THE INMATE WAS SHOT BY THE GUN. HE WAS
HOLDING IT IN HIS HANDS.

The inmate was shot once in the neck
and pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy will be performed next
week in Roanoke.
It's unclear whether the gun just
went off or if the suspect intended to
shoot himself.
State Police investigators have been
called in to try to answer those
questions.

Investigators are not releasing the
name of the deputy.
As for the inmate, he was originially
taken into custody charged with
contributing to the delinquency of a
minor.

company's latest contract offer.

company's latest contract offer.

four year proposal.
The two sides have been working
since December on a new contract and
severance benefits for 300 laid off
workers.
The plant is discontinuing

mid-April.
There's still no word on the
outcome of yesterday's vote.

You don't have to be black, mad or even
a woman to enjoy "Diary Of A
Mad Black Woman".
Kimberly Elise plays Helen, wife of
wealthy and powerful Atlanta
attorney Charles (Steve Harris). Helen
and Charles have been married
for seventeen years, but the last few
have not been full of bliss. With
no warning Charles comes home and
throws Helen out so his mistress and
his two kids can move in. Helen goes to
her grandmother Madea's house
to lick her wounds. Madea isn't your
run of the mill grandmother. She's
packing heat and doesn't take anything
off of anybody. With her
family's support she pulls herself
together and falls for Orlando
(Shemar Moore). Meanwhile back in
court, Charles is shot and paralyzed
by an angry client. The big question is
will Helen run back to him and
care for him or move on with Orlando.
I have to be honest, I laughed myself
silly in this movie. Tyler Perry
plays three different characters, Madea
(Helen's aunt), Joe (Helen's
uncle) and Brian (Helen's brother in
law). Perry plays the Aunt Madea
and Uncle Joe roles so over the top
it's almost too much. Note that I
said "almost". Madea is absolutely
hysterical! There is a scene where
Madea takes Helen back to Charles'
house and they have a blast ripping
"the other woman's" clothes up! It was
good to see Y & R's Shemar Moore
and the classic Cicely Tyson here.
There are some problems, it's
sentimental, predictable and disturbing
at times, but still funny.
Considering that Perry gets writing
credit in addition to playing three
characters I can't wait to see his next
project.
