Cara knew she definitely wanted to have
another child, but figured she

could wait a year since she had no
problem getting pregnant the first

time.

But then she got the shock of her life.

Cara took a blood test called an f-s-h
test which measures a hormone

which stimulates the ovaries to produce
eggs.

The test indicated that Cara.. Just one
year after having a normal

pregnancy - had virtually no eggs

Even though the F-S-H test is widely
available at fertility clinics many

women have never heard of it.

And experts say many women don't
realize that once their ovarian reserve

starts to decline they have less than a
five percent chance of getting

pregnant with their own eggs.

(SOT-Dr. Samuel Pang/Reproductive

Science Center)

There have been good studies that have
shown that once the FSH levels

have reached a certain level, then the
likelihood of pregnancy has

significantly decreased.

After learning that the odds were
against her, Cara opted to hire an

egg donor to help her conceive a baby
girl.

(SOT-Cara Birritieri/Suffered

I didn't know basic information about
my body which was critical to my

happiness and the future of my life and

can learn about their fertility before
it's too late.

ENG#=1 Madness doesn't officially start until

This afternoon Keydets' athletic

head basketball coach Bart Bellairs.

VO-NAT VO-NAT

*CG locator Lexington
:00 While Bellairs will no longer
coach basketball for VMI, the
winningest coach in school history has
been asked to stay on and work in the
promotions and marketing areas within
the athletic department.

Bellairs led the VMI hoopsters
for 11 seasons and had 116 wins and 191
losses, but the Keydets haven't had a
winning season since the 1997-98
campaign.

In March of 1996, he and then
head football coach Bill Stewart inked
longterm contracts with the school, and
then in February of 1998, Bellairs was
given a new 10 years contract
extension. He is still under contract
through 2011.

This season the Keydets were just
9 and 18 overall and only 3 and 13 in
the Big South - plus they failed to

qualify for the conference's postseason
tournament.

Athletic director White said
while it was a tough decision, it was
simply time for new leadership and a
new direction.

NASCAR Images Yesterday's Auto Club 500 was not :00 a day for the big names.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr had all kinds
of problems and finished a distant 32nd
- some 13 laps off the pace.

Jeff Gordon was in position for a
top five before engine problems dropped
him to 30th.

As a result both a little behind
in the points and also behind

yestterday's winner Greg Biffle.

There are are still 24 races
before the playoffs begin, but just
take a look at how the top 5 in points
stacks up right now.

Christo and Jean-Claude's steel,
fabric and plastic art project is
coming down.

On the final day of its 16-day
run yesterday, tourists and New Yorkers
lined the 23-miles of paths for a final
glimpse.

The thousands of tons of steel,
orange plastic and

saffron-colored nylon fabric won't go
to waste.

They'll be recycled into
everything from paint rollers and steel
reinforcing bars to P-V-C pipe.
