near Radford have caused major problems
for drivers this morning.

State Police are reporting
accidents between mile markers 105 and
109.

That's just south of Radford.

One of the accidents is
northbound near milemarker 106 --
including a jackknifed tractor trailer
leaking diesel fuel. The left lane is
closed from mile marker 105 to 107.

State Police dispatchers say it
could be another hour and a half before
it's cleared up.

But V-DOT drivers have a lot to
worry about clearing roads late at
night. Safety is thier number one
concern.

snowplow operator for V-DOT for nearly
nine years now.

He says the biggest challenge is
staying awake.

main thoroughfares clear despite a
constant snowfall yesterday.

scuffle in the parking lot, Higgins
says the cook happened to be outside
and that she was the one who first
reported it.

Sheriff's deputies ran outside-
-along with the sheriff himself.

Jerry Wayne Ruley had gotten
Deputy Randy Chittum's gun away from
him.

It went off, striking Ruley in
the neck, killing him.

File Tape Falwell had spent about four days
on a ventilator after he had trouble
breathing on his own, but his son
Jonathan says he was taken off that
machine Sunday morning.

The 71-year-old minister
reportedly has been eating, walking
around and talking on the phone over
the past day or so.

Jonathan Falwell expects his
father to go home on Thursday or
Friday.

Roanoke police are investigating a
break-in over the weekend at one of
their neighborhood offices- along with
breakins at three churches.

Police believe kids are
responsible for the burglary at the
department's southeast office, and at
three nearby churches.

The burglars stole a variety of
items from Belmont Baptist, Foursquare
Evangelical and Metropolitan Community.
