a robbery yesterday.

The attempted robbery happened
around 6:30 at the Glade Road
Deli-Mart.

Police say the suspect came in,
bought something, then tried to grab
cash from the open register. He fled
on foot without any money.

Police charged 19 year old Oren
Lee Price, of Blacksburg with attempted
robbery and possession of drug
paraphernalia.

About 45 minutes later, police
say someone robbed a Kentucky Fried
Chicken three blocks away from
Deli-Mart.

Price's nephew, Darrell Junior
Whitaker, was taken into custody for
the restaurant incident when police say
he called them to talk about the
attempted robbery earlier.

Both men are being held in the
Montgomery County Jail without bond.
