In October, 2003, Timothy Fennon
Sampson met with investigators,
claiming he was casing the Short's
neighborhood for places to burglarize
when he heard shots and saw a man who
looked like Abraham Lincoln carrying a
lifeless child from the Short's home

Shelia Davis.
Davis was at work when she heard about
the indictments on the news.

building full of smoke around
seven-thirty this morning.
Firefighters traced the source of
the fire to the kitchen stove.
The fire hadn't spread any
farther than the kitchen, though
there's smoke damage throughout the
building.

didn't have time to spread.
