building.
In all, two people were hit... Brian
Gray was dead.
Police say it was a home invasion drug
robbery gone bad. Aamir Brown... the

prison after pleading guilty to murder
and seven other charges. As part of a
plea deal he agreed to testify against
another man who has not been charged.
Police belive that man was the getaway
driver.
Roy Omar Hodge helped in the robbery,
he's already been sentenced to seven
and a half years in jail.
As for Brown, the plea deal may have
saved his life.

family member of Brown began yelling
obsentities and ran out of the room.
The judge is having the teenager
brought back to court for a hearing.

Two bomb-sniffing dogs searched the

Bank of Botetourt more than 40-thousand
dollars.
That's according to the
Commonwealth's Attorney's office.

The 10-suspects apprehended
yesterday went before a judge this
afternoon.
They face various charges. More
could be coming by the end of the week.
According to authorities the
group worked for a heavy equipment
company in Botetourt County, broke into
their employer's office one evening,
stole blank payroll checks and then
cashed them.
Deputies were able to alert banks
in the area after the first checks were
cashed Friday.
The ten are held without bond.

Bond's attorney, Mike Massey.
He says he's trying to negotiate
a plea agreement with the Commonwealth.

defendant appeared in Salem General
District Court.
She was in the courtroom less
than five-minutes.
Bond entered the room, smiled to
her family, then sat down with her
lawyer.
She and her attorney waived the

forward with its case.
A grand jury will hear charges
against her in May.

Smythers said early Tuesday he thinks
Belton, who has grown an inch to 6 foot
8 and begins AAU ball with Richmond
based Boo Williams next week, will stay
at Salem next season and not go to Oak
Hill. Redick was quoted in the News and
Observer recently as saying there was
absolutely no chance he would jump to
the NBA and that he plans to return for

wraps while crews continue to renovate
the 200 year old building.

INQ=Uh, this is one of the rooms MARK GREENOUGH/HISTORIAN: UH, THIS IS
ONE OF THE ROOMS THAT WAS USED BY THE
CONFEDERATE CONGRESS BETWEEN 1861 AND
1865.

OQ=between 1861 and 1865. The living landmark houses a rich
history along with some of Virginia's
most precious pieces of art.
Before long these busts of
Virginia born presidents will be moved
out and the rotunda void of everything
but this 18- ton statue of George
Washington.
He'll be protected by a series of
boxes- underneath temperature and
humidity levels will be monitored using
fiber optics.

This statue of Confederate
General Robert E. Lee has been removed
from the spot where the he took control
of Virginia forces in 1861.
Ironically it's being moved to a
storage facility in Maryland.
