VICKY HAYES SCOTT/MAGNA VISTA GIRL'S

The Warriors second straight trip to
the state final four is impressive, in
part, because the team welcomed five
new players, one a starter, from
Laurel Park in a consolidation move.

JASETTA PERKINS/PLAYED FOR LAUREL PARK
LAST SEASON:

Hayes Scott is in only her second

could be two for two in state

Yes you heard right-

A city councillor wanted this fourteen
ton boulder removed from a city museum,
saying it brought bad luck to the city.

City council rejected the motion
so the stone gets to stay.

It's inscribed with a curse that was
written in the sixteenth century,
directed at those who terrorized the
area in those times.

The city has been plagued by floods,

disease and job loss since the rock was
installed in 2001- some think it's to
blame.

Others are skeptical.
