a man wanted in connection with a drug
robbery that turned into a murder.

Avery Parris was indicted this week on
nine charges including accessory to
first degree murder and obstruction of
justice.

Street last May.

Prosecutors say Parris threw the
murder weapon into the New River and

Police believe the three had been
robbing drug dealers for some time
before the murder happened.

The robberies were never reported
by the dealers, but police heard
whispers of them on the streets.

Prosecutors say since these three
have been under investigation those
robberies have stopped.

Yesterday This week a grand jury indicted
56 year old Bob Shell on distribution
of morphine.

Shell is already charged with
felony homicide, four counts of
defiling a corpse and several drug
charges in connection with the death of
his girlfriend and model.

Police say he gave 19 year old
Marion Franklin a lethal dose of
morphine.

Prosecutors say the new drug
charge was added because of evidence
Shell gave morphine to another person
during the photo shoot where Franklin

died.

forward.

Department of Rail and Public
Transportation to work toward a Trans
Dominion Express pilot project.

The service between Bristol and
Richmond would demonstrate "the
capability of passenger rail to enhance
economic development," and connect
communities along the route.

The budget does not earmark any money
for the pilot project, but advocates of
passenger rail say it's an important
step toward state funding.
