Prosecutors suspect the pop star
may be broke.

During motions at Jackson's
molestation trial today, they filed a
motion seeking access to the singer's
financial records.

An assistant district attorney
said money problems may have motivated
Jackson to take part in an alleged
conspiracy to hold his accuser's family
captive.

Prosecutors believe Jackson may
be 300 (m) million dollars in debt and
may have 400 (m) million dollars in
liabilities.

Defense lawyers are fighting the
request -- calling Jackson's finances
"irrelevant" to the trial.

Meantime, testimony by Jackson's
accuser will resume Monday.
