The school system's budget for
next year does not include the roughly
800-thousand dollars it takes to keep
the academy running.

A decision that has some parents
concerned.

:11 KAREN MEISS:A LOT OF THESE KIDS
WHEN THEY WERE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, MY SON
INCLUDED, THEY WERE BULLIED AND PICKED
ON. THEY FOUND A PLACE AT BLUE RIDGE
WHERE THEY FEEL SAFE, THEY'RE
COMFORTABLE, THEY'RE LEARNING, THERE'S
NO DISRUPTION, THERE'S NO VIOLENCE.

Other parents fear the loss of
the one on one teaching.

:11 TAMMIE HOWELL:THE CHILDREN DO SO
WELL AT BLUE RIDGE, THE GET THAT EXTRA
HELP BECAUSE THE CLASS SIZES BEING SO

SMALL, THEY GET THAT EXTRA ATTENTION
THAT YOU CAN'T GET WITH A CLASS FULL OF
35 TO 40 STUDENTS.

School officials say that's the
problem.

The smaller the student to
teacher ratio is, the more it costs to
run the school.

They say the Blue Ridge program
itself will stay intact and say they
are developing a plan to help the
students adjust to a larger school.

:11 RICHARD CLEMMER:IN THAT PLAN WE
HAVE PROVIDED FOR THEM TO CONTINUE
THEIR CAREER PATHWAYS THAT THEY WOULD

TO PROVIDE SOME OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR
THEM TO TAKE ADDITIONAL KINDS OF

of fans from Orchard Hills Church in
Botetourt County.

Early on, Brittany Rogers finds
herself all alone and she will bury the
three ball to get the Cavs started in
the first half.

A little bit later, Lindsey
Forbes does some work on the inside for
two more points as Chuck Pound's
Cavaliers take a nine point halftime
lead.

In the second half - Rogers will
miss from outside, but Nicci Moats gets
the putback. She led the way with 21

Mowles- who can not use use his arms
or legs.. calls the computer his
