were both found dead inside their Axton
home yesterday afternoon.
Investigators say the mother shot the
daughter in the head, before turning
the gun on herself.

death may have been a last resort.

critical condition at a Charlottesville
hospital.

50-year-old Jessie A. Whorley of
Roanoke underwent skin grafts at the
UVA burn center last night.
Whorley was found burning
Saturday night outside the gates of
Fairview Cemetery.
A couple found him on their way
home and called authorities.
According to police, Whorley
suffered a gunshot wound, but they
aren't sure how recently or if the
injuries were self-inflicted.
The investigation is continuing.

& C's drivers were regularly falsifying

extra 540 dollars next year, while out
of state undergrads will have to fork

director Craig Littlepage made it
offficial this afternoon that Pete
Gillen is finished as the school's head
basketball coach.
Littlepage read a statement,
spoke for about 2 and half minutes, but
would not take reporters' questions
afterwards.
He never used the word fired, but
did thanks Gillen for his seven
seasons.

ENG#=3 Chan Gailey didn't lose his job today,
but he did suffer a scare.

:00 Gailey was playing racquetball at
the campus recreation center when he
suffereda heart attack. Gailey, who
turned 53 in January, was taken to
Piedmont Hospital after experiencing
chest pains. He underwent a balloon
angioplasty, a procedure that is used
to clear a blocked artery, and is now
resting comfortably.
Gailey asked that the school not
release any information about the
extent of his blockage or how many
arteries were affected. Georgia Tech
began spring practice last week and was
scheduled to practice tomorrow.
