GRAPHIC=None Police say a 13-year-old boy
pulled a gun on a girl at a Danville
middle school today.
A school resource officer heard
about the incident, confronted the boy
and found a a 22-caliber handgun tucked
into his waistband.
The gun was not loaded when it
was discovered, but police found
ammunition in another part of Bonner
Middle School.
Police say they're not sure
if the gun was loaded when the boy
allegedly pointed it at the student.
The suspect was charged with
brandishing a firearm and was taken to
a detention home.

death.
Laci Peterson's mother called Scott

Calling Scott cruel and callous,

recommendation and imposed the death
penalty.

They called the Sheriff's office
around three o'clock yesterday to
report a suspicious odor coming from a
trailer next door on East Lee Highway
in the Graham's Forge section of the
county.
Investigators searched the home
with the owner's permission and found a
meth lab.
35 year old Ronald Lee Ratcliffe
and 29 year old Tracy Renee Danner were
arrested and charged with manufacturing
methamphetamine and conspiracy to make
the drug.
They're both being held at the
New River Valley jail without bond.

Montgomery County is considering
a three cent increase to the real
estate tax.
That would take the tax from 67
cents to 70 cents.
Officials say the overall county
budget is up nearly 4-percent from last
year.

Elementary gave Specialist Chris Sink
a standing ovation this afternoon- and
some hugs.
The 22-year-old soldier is a 2000
graduate of Jefferson Forest High
School- currently stationed in Bagram,
Afghanistan.
For the last year- teachers and
students have been sending him packages
and letters- and today he stopped by to
say thanks, answer questions and even
showed off traditional Afghan dress.
Sink was a senior at Virginia
Tech when he was called up.
He expects to be back in Virginia
by this summer.
