after a crash involving two vans in
Alabama.

Monday The wreck happened Monday around
two o'clock in Prichard, Alabama, near
Mobile.
Officials say two school vans
carrying an intramural lacrosse team
collided and then crashed into oncoming
traffic.
For Marcus Ollie - the news came
as a shock.
Ollie was supposed to be on that
trip and on the lead van that crashed,
but had decided to spend his spring
break closer to home.
He says his teammates are more
like family.

yesterday it will relocate the Port
Huron Beacons to Roanoke in time for

deliberations to find Bernard Ebbers
guilty on all charges for engineering
the 11-billion dollar accounting
scandal that sank Worldcom.
63 year old Ebbers was found guilty of
conspiracy, securities fraud and lying
to the Securities and Exchange
Commission. Legal experts say the
defense took a gamble when they let
Ebbers take the stand...

Ebbers could spend the rest of his life
in prison and owe millions of dollars

SS=UHL In October, Roanoke's new entry in the
United Hockey League will open against
the Richmond Riverdogs.
The team is relocating to Roanoke from
Port Huron Michigan.
As Joe Dashiell reports, both the city
and the team's owners have high hopes
for a successful season.

ANNOUNCE TODAY IS THE NEW ERA OF
HOCKEY.
If UHL President Richard Brosal is
excited, so are city officials, and the
hockey fans who kept the faith after
the Express folded.
Despite the recent history of empty
seats, the new owners promise to field
a competitive hockey team, and put the
marketing muscle behind it to be
successful.

A three year lease will go to city
council for approval in the next six
weeks.
Said to be similar to one that was
offered to the Express, the new
contract includes incentives such as a
provision to share some of the
concession revenue.

BUSINESS PEOPLE WHICH IS A PART OF THE
WHOLE THING, BUT WE'VE GOT PEOPLE WHO

MARKETING IS A KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF
HOCKEY IN THE CITY SO WE'RE VERY VERY
PLEASED.
The owners are holding a contest to
name the new team. they're trying to
sell at least a thousand season
tickets... and hope a large turnout for
two games in April, will be a sign of
things to come when the team hits the
ice in October.

formally sentence the 32 year old for
the murder of his pregnant wif Laci.
The jury recommended the death
penalty after his conviction last year.
The judge will also review a motion
from Peterson's lawyers for a new
trial.
They say newly discovered evidence
could have brought a different verdict.

Valley is in a Seattle hospital in
serious condition.
Her boyfriend is dead.
Bethany Turner met Jason Blaine
on the Internet.
They moved in together last Fall
after she graduated with honors from
Patrick Henry High School.
Authorities say the pair was
found in their Silverdale, Washington
apartment Sunday.
He'd been stabbed in the chest.
She had stab wounds to the neck.
Blaine's brother speculates Jason
may have taken a large quantity of the
drug known as D-X-M before stabbing his
girlfriend and himself.
