GRAPHIC=None Police say a 13-year-old boy

pulled a gun on a girl at a Danville

middle school yesterday.

A school resource officer heard
about the incident, confronted the boy
and found a a 22-caliber handgun tucked
into his waistband.

The gun was not loaded when it
was discovered, but police found
ammunition in another part of Bonner
Middle School.

Police say they're not sure
if the gun was loaded when the boy
allegedly pointed it at the student.

The suspect was charged with
brandishing a firearm and was taken to
a detention home.

GRAPHIC=None A citizen's tip helped police

bust a methamphetamine lab in Wythe
County.

ENG#=1 They called the Sheriff's office

around three o'clock Tuesday to report
a suspicious odor coming from a trailer
next door on East Lee Highway in the
Graham's Forge section of the county.

Investigators searched the home

with the owner's permission and found a
meth lab.

35 year old Ronald Lee Ratcliffe
and 29 year old Tracy Renee Danner were
arrested and charged with manufacturing
methamphetamine and conspiracy to make
the drug.

They're both being held at the
New River Valley jail without bond.

Crews responded to a single story
residence at 5661 Daytona Road shortly
after 7:30.

They found an electrical fire in
the basement that started at a fusebox.

his annual stop at Victory Stadium.

closed the stadium after an engineering
report found part of the structure is
unsafe.

annual easter egg hunt are moving the
eggs.

It will now take place March 26th

Some Bedford County elementary
school student welcomed a hometown hero
yesterday.

Students at Otter River
Elementary welcomed Specialist Chris
Sink with a standing ovation.

The 22-year-old soldier is a 2000
graduate of Jefferson Forest High
School and currently stationed in
Bagram, Afghanistan.

His mom works at the school - and
before long teachers and students
adopted him as their own and started
sending letters and care packages.


Yesterday he said thanks.

community is looking at a tax hike.

Montgomery County is considering
a three cent increase to the real
estate tax.

That would take the tax from 67
cents to 70 cents.

Officials say the overall county
budget is up nearly 4-percent from last
year.

Earlier this week, Blacksburg
announced it too was looking at a three
cent hike.
