for a man that broke into a woman's

apartment and tried to rape her.

It happened early yesterday
morning on Wiggington Road.

The suspect is described as a
black man with medium complexion, with
medium height, and athletic build.

He was wearing black nylon
jogging pants and black tennis shoes.

broke into a neighboring unit, and
gained access to a crawl space above
both apartments.

He then cut a whole in the
ceiling of the victim's kitchen and
lowered himself down.

The victim said he woke her up
and attempted to have sex with her.

It's unknown whether the man left
on foot or in a vehicle.

GRAPHIC=Police Chase State police are investigating


the shooting of a truck driver -- after
a police chase stretched from West
Virginia to Alleghany County.

Saturday State police say the man had no
I-D, making *their* job more difficult.

At last check, he remains under
treatment at Roanoke Memorial Hospital
for gunshot wounds to the head.

The Alleghany County sheriff's
deputies involved in the incident are
on administrative leave while state
police investigate.

Officials say the deputies opened
fire on the driver Saturday morning

when he drove his truck cab directly at
them along I-64 in Low Moor.

It ended a 75-mile chase that
began when a stolen truck ran through a
West Virginia Turnpike toll booth
without paying.

riders to register with the city.

sell registration stickers.

Riders can pick those up at the
Danville City Treasurer's Office.

In addition to the stickers,
moped riders will have to wear a helmet
and some form of eye protection.

The cost of the decal is

stickers could be fined up to

50-dollars.

overweight. That 's the word from
health officials. The details are in

County skating rink brought out dozens
of police officers Saturday night.
Nearly 600 children were in attendance
when the party got out of hand.

responded to Star City Skate and Play
around eleven o'clock -- and by
midnight there were dozens of officers
trying to break up multiple fights.

At least one officer used pepper
spray to break up fight involving

company that rents out the skating rink
has put on the event since October
without any problems.

But previous parties were
restricted to middle and elementary
school children.

Saturday night's party was the
first with high school students.

Now the manager says there will
be a cap on how many people can get in,

Roanoke city officials told News
7 they are unable to comment on the
parents' concerns.

However they say complaints
should be made to the police chief's
