TOM JACKSON: YOU JUST HAVE TO HOPE
THERE'S ENOUGH FLEXIBILITY IN THE
FEDERAL SYSTEM RIGHT NOW THAT THEY CAN

(END SOT)

Virginia has identified nine
areas that it believes need to be
waived.

But the department has only heard
favorable response on only a few of its
proposals...

One allows students with
disabilities or those with limited
English proficiency to stay in school
longer.

SOT FULL 15:16

JO LYNNE DeMARY: THE LAW PERMITS THEM
TO STAY IN SCHOOL LONGER AND IT
SHOULDN'T BE AS IMPORTANT HOW SOON THEY

Another waiver would change the
way adequate yearly progress is
calculated.

Currently an entire school could
make a failing grade if just 50
students in a particular subgroup test
poorly.

The state is then expected to
help remediate the entire school.

and fined 35 grand, and JJ was docked
25 points, after the pair was accused
of cheating in Atlanta.

Gustafson, Kyle Busch's crew

surgery today to allow it to walk.

George was born without two of
his legs.

A surgical team from the North
Carolina State College of Veterinary
Medicine attached two metal artificial
limbs to the cat.

The artificial limbs are similar
to prosthetic legs used by runners.
