nearly five-years ago when he went to
the hospital for flu-like symptoms.

One is this Wednesday and another one
is on Friday.

This Season This afternoon the Dazzle put :00 three players on the six man all-NBDL
first team. Leading the way is forward
Isiah Victor - who currently leads the
league in scoring averaging 19 points a
game.

Joining Victor on the first team
are two Dazzle players who are no
longer with the team.

Matt Carroll and Cory Alexander
were both called up to the NBA back in
the winter to play with the Charlotte
Bobcats.

Center James Thomas earned second
team honors.

upon us and besides providing fans with
some incredible hoops this past
weekend, the tournament also has put
some coaches on a huge national stage.

Two of the coaches who competed,
but lost this past weekend have been
mentioned in connection with the UVa
coaching vacancy.

Both Kentucky's Tubby Smith, who
once was an assistant at VCU and West
Virginia's John Beilein have been
lighting up the UVa chat rooms for
days. Now that each is out of
tournament - UVa can make a move to
pursue either coach should it desire.

One other name that continues to
surface is that of former Cavalier Marc
Iavaroni. The 1978 UVA grad has been
coaching in the NBA for the past six
years with the Heat and now the Suns as
an assistant.

Iavaroni was a member of UVa's
only ACC title team in 1976, plus he
was a graduate assistant at Virginia in
1981 and he also worked on UVa radio
network in the mid-90s.


He is a link to the past that
might be able to lead UVa into the
future.

Before the NCAA tournament Pearl was
virtually unknown - but he led
Wisconsin-Milwaukee into the Sweet 16

He replaces Buzz Peterson who was
