an illegal gambling operation.
It involves the popular game Texas
Hold Em.

Officers executed a search warrant at
the Terrace View Apartments in
Blacksburg last week.
Police allege Edwin Park was running
an illegal gambling operation out of
his apartment.
According to the search warrant, the
game was running almost every night and
thousands of dollars were being
exchanged.
The investigation reveals the house
reserved the right to a minimal rake of
10-percent each hand.
Also, a computer kept track
of the players and how much money they
were spending.
We went by the apartment Monday
afternoon and the person who answered
the door says Park is his roomate and
that he is a Virginia Tech student.
As we were leaving, a man showed
up. We asked him if he was Edwin Park.
He said yes but then declined
to comment any further.

launched an undercover investigation
called "Operation Red Light" -- to
eliminate prostitution in the Southwest

authorities say two men charged with
soliciting sex from a minor were
involved with the same girl.

37-year-old Darryl Walizer
(waltz-ee-ur) was arrested in January
after he traveled to Forest

he'd met in an Internet chat room.
Walizer is a former Air Force Two
flight attendant, and is facing prison
time on similar charges in Ohio.
Prosecutors revealed yesterday the
teen had sex with a Bridgewater College
professor she'd met on the Internet.
35-year-old Sean Michael Dunn has
since been fired from his job.
Both men face felony solicitation
charges.

looking for the suspect in a fatal
shooting.
Police say 41 year old Tony Dale
Martin, of Concorde, and a friend were
in the area of 8th and 10th streets
when Martin was shot once in the chest
early yesterday morning.
His friend drove him to Lynchburg
General Hospital where he died.

Blacksburg.

Officers executed a search warrant at
the Terrace View Apartments in
Blacksburg last week.
Police allege Edwin Park was running
an illegal gambling operation out of
his apartment.
According to the search warrant, the
game was running almost every night and
thousands of dollars were being
exchanged.
The investigation reveals the house
reserved the right to a minimal rake of
10-percent each hand.
Also, a computer kept track
of the players and how much money they
were spending.
We went by the apartment Monday
afternoon and the person who answered
the door says Park is his roomate and
that he is a Virginia Tech student.
As we were leaving, a man showed
up. We asked him if he was Edwin Park.
He said yes, but then declined
to comment any further.

Last Thursday, the department
launched an undercover investigation
called "Operation Red Light" -- to
eliminate prostitution in the Southwest
part of the city.
The operation was initiated last
summer in response to complaints from
residents.
So far, police have made at least
12 arrests.
Officers hope that by eliminating
prostitution they'll do away with other
criminal activities associated with it.

his apartment.
According to the search warrant, the
game was running almost every night and
thousands of dollars were being
exchanged.
The investigation reveals the house
reserved the right to a minimal rake of
10-percent each hand.
Also, a computer kept track
of the players and how much money they
were spending.
We went by the apartment Monday
afternoon and the person who answered
the door says Park's is his roomate and
that he is a Virginia Tech student.
As we were leaving, a man showed
up. We asked him if he was Edwin Park.
He said yes but then declined
to comment any further.

time on similar charges in Ohio.
Prosecutors revealed yesterday the
teen had sex with a Bridgewater College

35-year-old Sean Michael Dunn has
since been fired from his job.
Both men face felony solicitation

Arrests are expected in the next
few days as Blacksburg Police
investigate an illegal gambling
operation.
It involves the game Texas Hold Em.
Officers executed a search warrant at
the Terrace View Apartments in last
week.
According to the search warrant, the
game was running almost every night and
thousands of dollars were being
exchanged.

There's been a crack down on
prostitution in Roanoke city.
An undercover investigation
called "Operation Red Light" is an
attempt to eliminate prostitution in
the Southwest part of the city.
12 arrests have been made so far.
The first couple phases of the
investigation include undercover work.

rocked Indonesia yesterday.

shootings.
Another teen has been arrested in
connection with last week's shootings
at a Minnesota Indian reservation.
The Washington Post also reports that
the teen had expected to take part in
the attack that left

Law enforcement officials say the
juvenile son of the tribal chairman has
been arrested in connection to

Kroger employees in western Virginia

sides say they hope to avoid a walkout.
