figure out who robbed three employees
of the Olde Dutch Supermarket last
night.

Just before 9 o'clock, the
assistant manager and three employees
were walking to their cars, when a man
came from the woods with a small black
handgun.

He demanded them all back inside,
but they refused.

The suspect took money from three
of employees and fled on foot.

GRAPHIC=Body Found Police are calling it a suspicous

death.

That after two people find the
body of a middle aged man in Tazewell
County.

According to published reports,
the two people stumbled upon the body
on Monday in Tannersville -- near the
Smyth County line.

It was taken to the medical
examiner in Roanoke for identification.

ENG#=1 union workers are still hashing out a

new contract and face a deadline of
midnight Friday.

That's when the a 60 day
extention of the old contract will end.

months.

The two sides reached a tenative
contract in February, but Union members
voted it down.

Since then, no deals have been
reached.

Negotiations are still underway,
but the union is authorized to strike
April first.

Another person at Lakeview
assisted living center is dead from the
severe form of bacteria that causes
strep throat, and is known as the flesh
eating bacterium.

Health officials yesterday
announced the death of another woman
who lived at the Roanoke assisted
living facility.

Last week we heard about the
death Bertha Woodby, another resident
at the facility.

Three other Lakeview residents

were also infected with a severe from
of Group A Step.

However, 13 others who tested
positive for the bacterium didn't
develop any symptoms.

They include residents and staff.

Health officials believe the
worst may be over since there have been
no new infections at Lakeview in the
past two weeks.

And they say two unannounced
inspections of the facility showed it
met or exceeded standards.

for Liberty University.

problems, there was the accident two
weeks ago in Alabama that injured
several students.

by legislature last year has been met.

He amended 44 bills, made 35 line
item amendments to the budget bill,

a third of the 20- million dollar
economic development plan.

It's designed to help distressed
communities in Southwest and Southside
Virginia.

Warner says was able to find
savings on out- of- state inmates and
some technical corrections in the
budget.

to a bill granting more independence to
state colleges and universities.

The governor vetoed a bill that
pushed for natural gas drilling off
Virginia's coast.

Meanwhile a bill making it
illegal for someone under 21 to
*consume* alcohol was signed into law.

Those who provide alcohol to
someone underage could now face up to a
year in jail.
