His son, Jonathan, said today that
the 71-year-old pastor was up and

native was named the winner of this
year's

Redick led Duke to a 27-6 record
and the Number Three ranking in
the season's final Associated Press
poll.
The award is named after
celebrated Kentucky coach Adolph
Rupp, who won 876 games and four
national titles with the Wildcats.
This afternoon JJ had a chance to
back to back national honors, but he
finished second in the ballotting for
the Associated Press player of the year
award to Utah's Andrew Bogut.
