high winds.

In Roanoke, winds knocked down trees --
forcing several road closures.
In this case, city crews had to use
chain saws and a front end loader just
to clear the debris.
And trees weren't the only things
knocked around by the wind.
On 419 near Keagy Road, this bank sign
was blown off its pole.
More than 13-thousand customers are
still without power tonight.
Appalachian Power says it could be
until tomorrow night untilt the lights
come back on.

this afternoon in the gusty winds.
This brush fire started off of Peter's
Creek Road.

morning.

before one.

The Amtrak train was en route from
*Spokane, Washington* to Portland,
Oregon -- when the locomotive's wheels
left the track in the Columbia River
Gorge.
The train's four cars remained upright,
but leaned against an embankment.
At least 10 of the 115 people on board
were taken to area hospitals.
Some of the passengers had to be pulled
out the train's windows.
The cause of the derailment is still
under investigation.

The jury is still out on what
caused Falwell's lungs to fill with
liquid, but Jonathan and the
congregation are excited to hear that
Falwell's condition has improved.

their prayers his way.
