murder.

Officers were called to the 45-hundred
block of Shenandoah Avenue Northwest
just before one o clock yesterday
morning.

Authorities found a man dead at the
scene.

They're NOT releasing the victim's name
at this time -- or how he died.

ENG#=1 difficult for firefighters to gain the

upper hand on a house fire in Roanoke
County.

Everyone got out safely.

There's no word yet on a cause.

Roanoke man is *still* in critical
condition.

27-year-old Greg Staley was
burned in March while he was on the job

at *ChemSolve* in Roanoke.
*CG locator Roanoke 60-percent of Staley's body was March burned, after a mixer apparently caught
fire and exploded --spewing chemicals
all over him.

His father tells News7, Staley
has had numerous *skin graft* surgeries
and has several to go.

He's currently at the UVA burn
unit.

ENG#=3 Power customers in Western Virginia are

still in the dark this morning. That
includes 12-hundred in the Roanoke
area.

The company says it could take
until midnight to restore power.

Homeowners spent yesterday
picking up branches from this weekend's
high winds.

In Roanoke, winds knocked down
trees -- forcing several road closures.


In this case, city crews had to
use chain saws and a front end loader
just to clear the debris.

And trees weren't the only things
knocked around by the wind.

On 419 near Keagy Road, this bank
sign was blown off its pole.

are relieved to hear it.

Yesterday Hundreds attended the Sunday
service at Thomas Road Baptist Church,
but there was still no sign of Falwell.

His son, Jonathan, took over on
the pulpit for the day, and gave
reports of his dad's anxiety to get out
of the hospital.

Members say they have been

sending their prayers in Falwell's
direction and will continue to do so.

life.

Relatives of donors gathered to
celebrate those who passed on life, as
their own lives faded.

Kevin Shroyer lost his daughter
nearly three years ago, but takes
