A truck carrying asphalt ran off the
right side of the road and overturned-

State police say the driver, 54
year old Charles Nichols Junior of
Roanoke was trapped inside.

Crews used a saw to cut out the
windshield and get Nichols out.

State Police say they're not sure
what caused the accident.

think his injuries are serious.

Route 11 is closed while crews
cleanup- it should be reopened this
afternoon.

The road is being paved. The Adams

of asphalt for that project.

ENG#=1 difficult for emergency crews to fight

a house fire in Roanoke County.

to the home at 3822 Old Garst Mill
Road.

The three adults and two children
inside got out safely. The Red Cross is

helping to relocate them.

ENG#=2 Jersey has forced thousands of people

out of their homes.

Many are expecting even more damage as
the Delaware River continues to crest.
The Statehouse and nearby offices in
Trenton are closed today because of the
flood. New Jersey Governor Richard
Codey is expected to tour the damaged
areas today.

Scranton, Pennsylvania, have caused
major flooding.

Residents in the area began placing
sandbags near houses and roads, in
attempts to divert the floodwaters. So
far there have been no reports of
serious accidents or injuries.
