shot at a party last night on Beaver's
Mill Road.

Apparently a man was shot in the
upper buttocks by an unknown person.
His wound was not life threatening.

County deputies have returned to work.

March 19th The deputies were placed on
administrative leave after shooting a
truck driver they had been chasing.

Sheriff Dale Muterspaugh (MUTE-ers-paw)
says he believes the officers are ready
to return to duty.

He says a state de-briefing team, the
office of the Commonwealth Attorney and
others involved in the investigation
reinforce his opinion.

The incident is still under
investigation by the Virginia State
Police.

are in jail charged with stealing
thousands of dollars worth of alcohol
from a state liquor store.

Road in Campbell County was burglarized
late Thursday.

Police got a tip the next day, and
raided this Lynchburg apartment where
they recovered most of the stolen
liquor.

Virginia's health commissioner
says officials and administrators at a
Roanoke County assisted living facility
made NO mistakes during a recent
outbreak of flesh eating bacteria.

Bob Stroube (Strew-bee) is in
Roanoke this week for a Virginia Board
of Health conference.

Before making the trip from Richmond,
he was briefed about the outbreak at

the Lakeview Living Facility which
killed two residents.

He says overall the local health
department did everything by the book
but acknowledges procedures will be
reviewed.

At the Kuumba Community and Wellness
Center on Melrose Avenue, the state
announced new ways to prevent and
control chronic diseases such as
cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.

The Board of Health plans to educate
people more about the danger of these
diseases.

The state also hopes to expand
public/private partnerships to reach
these goals.

Light".

March 29 They made 14 more arrests in the last
six days.

Police say two of the suspects were
also picked up in the first sweep just
a week earlier.

"Operation Red Light" was launched last
month in response to residents'
complaints, in efforts to eliminate
prostitution in the southwest part of

Roanoke's Commissioner of Revenue.

January to December 2004, shows the
Commissioner of Revenue's office failed
to follow proper procedures to collect
money from personal property taxes and
business licenses.

As a result, officials say the
city could be losing hundreds of
thousands of dollars in uncollected
