Breaking News from Pulaski County
tonight, where the New River Valley

possible case of Bacterial Meningitis.

New River Valley Bureau Chief

saying?

HOLD BREAKING NEWS BANNER Shannon, they are telling parents
NOT to worry right now.

Katherine McColmbs with the
Health District tells me they have a
confirmed case of Meningitis but they
are investigating whether it is
bacterial meningitis.

That is the more serious form
that can be fatal.

Menegitus is a swelling of the
lining of the brain.

I'm told they are investigating a
student at Pulaski County High School.

The school system did send home a
letter with students and notified
faculty and staff.

Again this is not a confirmed
case of bacterial mengitis and even if
it was.. it is not easily spread person
to person.. you must be in very, very
close contact with an infected person
for it to spread.

Shannon, The health department is
running tests and results won't be back

The Energy Information Administration
projects that average gasoline

prices will be 38 cents higher than

SOT: Guy Caruso, Energy Information

Administration (8:26:47) "Almost all

of the increase is a result of the
crude oil price component, taxes have

pretty much stayed flat."

for oil here and in other

countries is causing the increase.

SOT: Dave Burrescia, driver (20:52) "

The price of gas is ludicrous

now a days. How can you even keep up?
They should have to raise our

pay to keep up with the price of gas so
we can make it to work everyday."

on the Airline industry too, but

Yvonne Estrada is finding that's the
