there is no possible way after heavy
night of drinking...it's impossible to
be

100%. every aspect of my being was
affected. it was difficult for me to
focus,

to concentrate. when i was sober,
thinking about the next time i could
drink.

it's all consuming.

HE TRIED PSYCHOANALYSIS, AN INTENSIVE
OUTPATIENT PROGRAM, AA MEETINGS, AND

SIMPLY GOING COLD TURKEY... NONE OF
THEM WORKED FOR HIM

i didnt see a future for my
relationship with my self and wife, i
didnt see a

financial future i saw my realtionhip
with my family fading away, with
friends

fading away ..i was afraid for my life,
and i thought i was going to die

FINALLY, HE TRIED THE DRUG NALTREXONE,
A PILL DESIGNED TO CURB THE CRAVING FOR

ALCOHOL BY BLOCKING THE EUPHORIC
FEELING ALCOHOL CAN GIVE

AND FOR THE LAST EIGHT MONTHS, JOHN HAS
BEEN SOBER

((NATPOP))

TAKING A DAILY PILL HAS BEEN WORKING
FOR JOHN ... BUT FOR MANY ALCOHOLICS,

STICKING TO A SCHEDULE AND TAKING A
PILL EVERY DAY IS AN EXTRAORDINARY

CHALLENGE

alcoholism is a disease where
individuals have mixed feelings about
what they

want to happen -- on the one hand they
want to get better, on the other hand,

there's a part of them that's driving
them to consume alcohol

SO RESEARCHERS HAVE NOW DEVELOPED AN
INJECTABLE FORM OF THE DRUG, GIVEN ONCE
A

MONTH, INSTEAD OF ONCE A DAY

by having it only once a month, you
dont have to worry about it, you dont

have

to think about going to the drug store,
you dont have to worry about forgetting

to take it, and you can focus on other
aspects of life- like working on

repairing your family life, and making
yourself better.

SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUG ARE MINIMAL
BUT INCLUDE NAUSEA AND MILD HEADACHES
AND

FATIGUE

IF APPROVED BY THE F-D-A, THE
INJECTABLE FORM OF NALTREXONE WOULD
JOIN A SHORT

LIST OF DRUGS DESIGNED TO HELP CONTROL
ALCOHOL CRAVINGS

FOR PEOPLE STRUGGLING WITH ALCOHOL,
THESE DRUGS MEAN EVEN MORE HOPE THAT
THEY

CAN RECOVER FROM THIS DISEASE...

they're not a magic bullet and they
don't work for everyone .. we are
starting

to develop medications to treat
alcoholism that can have an effect.

FOR JOHN, HE'S TAKING IT ONE DAY AT A

TIME...

i see a bright future. my urge to
drink is completely gone. my life is

getting so much better, work is
wonderful, my relationships with my
family is

getting better.

Sonya Elliott claims the former
Virginia Tech standout gave her herpes
in April 2003.

Elliott is alleging negligence by
Vick, unwanted physical contact, pain,
suffering and potential future medical

complications.

Elliott claims she met Vick in
Virginia Beach in 2001 when both lived
in the area, and had an off-and-on
relationship with him before and after
she moved to the Atlanta area in 2002.

The athletic director and one man

likes his longtime friend, former
coaching comrade and current South
Carolina head coach Dave Odom.

Odom is a safe, if not exciting
pick.

Casteen likely has storing feeling
toward current DePaul head coach Dave
Leitao.

Casteen, and Leitao both have
roots that connect their pasts at the
University of Connecticut.

Leitao is nearly 20 years younger
than Odom.

He also has something else that
Odom doesn't have - a $3 million dollar
buyout of his current contract with

DePaul.
