From a health standpoint, the disease
is very rare and the number of cases in
Virginia dropped off dramatically last
year.



In 2000 there were 42 cases of
Bacterial Meningitis.

In 2002 there were 46, but by 2003
only 28 cases were reported across the
state.

Investigators are charging two
male juveniles with breaking and
entering, grand larceny and destruction
of county property.

Dublin Elementary School was
vandalized Thursday night.

middle School.

Police say the fire occurred on
April Ninth at William Ruffner. Fire
officials say it was confined to a
trash can.

weekend shooting.

It happened about 6:30 Sunday
night in the street on Salem Turnpike

Northwest.

Roanoke Police say the 17
year old was shot in the leg-

P-H Principal Gary Leah visited
the student at R-M-H today and said he
seems to be doing well.

So far no one's been arrested.
The student's name has not been
released because he's under 18.

GRAPHIC=Guilty Plea A Grayson County man has pleaded


guilty to felony child abuse.

18 year old Michael Foster Grimes
was arrested in June for hurting his
25-DAY old son.

According to officials with
Social Services the child had several
injuries including 11 fractured ribs.

The child is now living with
foster parents, but officials say he's
showing signs of slow development.

Grimes will be sentenced in June.

He faces up to 10 years in
prison.

two of his offensive stars indefinitely
following a fight in a campus dorm.

receiver Bret Smith have been charged
with hitting a man who was arguing with
Schaeffer's girlfriend.

. They have been charged with
misdemeanor assault and released on
their own recognizance. Their court
date is set for April 18th.

Campus police say part of
Schaeffer's involvement was caught on
tape by a video camera in the dorm

lobby.

The document also said Schaeffer
and the other man Quantavios Emerson
grabbed baseball bats but dropped them
before hitting anyone.
