custody. 25-year-old Channell Ricarda
Burnette of Roanoke is charged with
murder, in connection with the hit and

confirming a Pulaski County teenager
has Bacterial Meningitis.

In this health check seven
report, health officials say the girl
has the meningococcal
(MEN-IN-GE-COK-CAL) strain of the
disease, which is the most severe form.

16-year-old Allison McDaniel
started feeling ill on Wednesday.

Pulaski Community Hospital where she
was diagnosed with bacterial
meningitis.

Initially, her prognosis was NOT
good, but McDaniel is now stable and is
being treated in a private room.

This time someone broke windows
and doors at Dublin Middle School.

It happened Friday night,
sometime after 10:00.

On Thursday Dublin Elementary
school was broken into.


Several items were stolen and
thousands of dollars in damage was
reported.

Dublin Police are investigating
both incidents.

for hepatitis.

disease.

Health officials also say that
this is NOT related to the recent
cluster of group A strep cases.

Anyone who had close contact with
the individual has been vaccinated.

Health district director Molly
O'Dell says the person easily could
have gotten the infection from outside
of Lakeview.


The former resident was away from
the facility on two leaves of absence
before being discharged.

of Roanoke was taken into custody just
after Midnight Sunday, in connection
with the death of 43-year-old Diana
Lynn Blaney.

Saturday Blaney died Saturday, after police say
she was hit by a vehicle in the
one-thousand block of Gilmer Avenue.

Burnette has been charged with murder.

She's being held in the Roanoke City
jail under no bond.

Police are NOT releasing any more
details about the case at this time.

The Lundberg survey says the price of
gas has spiked by an average of 19
cents per gallon during the past three
weeks. Industry analysts say high crude
oil prices, a growing demand, and
higher refining costs are to blame.

But it says it doesn't expect prices to
go much higher unless crude oil prices
rise sharply again.

The national average for a gallon of
regular unleaded gas has reached two
dollars and 29 cents.

fought for position, and fans cheered
on their favorite car.

even on the track that fans started
noticing a changing Martinsville
Speedway.

A new safety fence surrounding
the track, and of course, what was a
working railroad track less than two
weeks ago was gone.

But the FIRST change fans saw was
the new security rules, like the new
regulations on coolers.

FOURTEEN BY FOURTEEN. SO THIS IS A BIT
SMALLER BUT IT IS STILL LARGE ENOUGH

THAT YOU CAN GET SIX OR EIGHT CANS OF

The track was bought by the
International Speedway Corporation, and
therefore, is now adopting the ISC's
security policy.

Not only will fans have to bring
a smaller cooler, but they'll have to
carry their race gear in clear bags.

Masters title last night -- beating
Chris Dimarco on the first sudden death
playoff hole.

CBS Sports Tiger got himself in positon for :00 the win with a strong third round
finish in the morning, but the shot
that shook Augusta was this one that
Tiger hit on the 16th hole.

Sitting off the back of the green
- it looked like he was facing a
certain bogey - instead the "seeing eye
birdie" - featured a Nike gofl ball
loaded with drama as it teased the
gallery before dropping in the cup.

But Tiger would bogey the next
two holes and leave the door open for
DiMarco.

This pitch from below the hole on
18 almost went in for birdie.

Had it fallen - DiMarco would
have won the Masters title in
regulation.

Instead, the two went back to the
18th tee to begin a playoff.

Tiger would end it on a putt

reminiscent of ones Sandy Lyle and Phil
Mickelson hit to seal their respective
green jackets.

Tiger dedicated his fourth
Masters title to his Dad Earl - who is
in poor health.
