GRAPHIC=TUBBY SMITH UVa's coaching search is
continuing, but once and for all
Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith is not
interested.
This according to a report in
today's Daily Progress in
Charlottesville.
GRAPHIC=DAVE LEITAO If you've been following this
search for the past month - that would
lead you to believe that current DePaul
head coach Dave Leitao (LAY-TOE) is now
the leading candidate.
However, on more than one
occasion in the past week he has said
he plans to stay in Chicago and lead
DePaul in its first season in the Big
East next year.

GRAPHIC=VHSL The spring sports season is
always an adventure due to the rain,
but one constant in the high school
ranks is the steady play year in and
year out of the Cave Spring high school
baseball team.

gkittelson@wdbj7.com Mike it's great to be back. I
grew up here in Roanoke, graduated from
Cave Spring and then J-M-U. I've
worked in Ohio and Tennessee and
Richmond, but there's no place like
southwest Virginia.
Speaking of Cave Spring - the
Knights' Baseball team is 4 and 2 this
season. They are hoping there will be
many more wins, but the Knights are
looking for 1 specific win at the end
of the season.

made it all the way to the Double "A"
state championship game. They came up
a little short in falling to Tunstall 4
to nothing. This season the Knights
are looking to get back and this time
get a win.
(Mills: 3:47:32- I think about it
every day... that's the ultimate goal
of every season.)
(Boone: 3:44:02- These guys are trying
to get back there... and make a run at
the end)
The Knights will have to rely on much
less experience on the field than last
year having lost 13 players to
graduation. this years team only
features 5 seniors.
(Boone: 3:45:05- In some ways... harder
we work)
(Standup: 3:52:34)
(Moore: 3:49:45 Well I think the
injuries have allowed us to get more
kids playing time and we have learned
from our losses.)>>
