for the man they say opened fire on
several people last night -- wounding
one girl.

Police were called to Clayton
Estates in the 400 block of Givens Lane
around 9:30 last night.

Police say the suspect -- 28 year
old Michael Paul Collins -- was
confronted by the mother of a juvenile
whom Collins allegedly had a romantic
relationship with.

Collins reportedly opened fire on
the mother and another family member.

The juvenile was shot in the
lower abdomen when she stepped between
the gun and her mother.

She was airlifted to Roanoke
Memorial hospital where she's in stable
condition.

Collins is charged with
Aggravated Malicious Wounding.
